The Sojourn, Siem Reap Cambodia

I already mentioned that The Sojourn was a great hotel that arranged all our tours and included a personal driver and what not. The experience was even better when we got to the hotel, which was 10 minutes outside of Siem Reap, down a rural dirt road. At first I was a little worried, but it is a paradise tucked away in the countryside. Thanks Jen and Robert for the excellent recommendation! 

The pool and yes- you do see a swim up bar! That's the best! We even swam in the rain one evening- it's Cambodia's rainy season.

This was our bungalow. It was minimalist but incredibly nice (with aircon)...

It also had an outdoor private shower! 

They had an excellent restaurant- great food and service! 

I know this looks like a messed up picture, but it's the best picture I could get of the cricket traps that are in the neighbor's yard. They set up these black lights and nets to catch crickets to eat...no one in our group dared to try them though! 

Well, I will post some more about Cambodia. Right now, we are in Hanoi Vietnam- it is crazy here- very hectic. We leave tomorrow early morning to go on our boat cruise of Halong Bay. I will of course have posts about that as well. It is really nice to escape the smog in Singapore right now.
