So M and I decided to take a break from
all the hustle and bustle in Singapore (lots of people - little country). We went to the island (right over a bridge) that Singapore has developed into a resort island. It has resorts (-hahha obviously), golf courses, beaches, Universal Studios, and more.
We spent the day at The Sentosa's Spa- The Spa Botanica. You can buy a day pass for about $40 USD. This gives you access to amazing gardens, beautiful pools with waterfalls, hot tubs, mud baths, and meditation spaces. Those of you who have been following me for three years might remember this place, as I went my first year with MaryAnn.
So- off to Sentosa! And I as super happy that my friend Stephanie could join us for awhile- even though she worked and relaxed :)
On the bridge to Sentosa...
You can get on floats and float under the waterfall for some back massaging. M and I also got massages. Hey- we're working hard over here!
A little floatin' and relaxin'...
Strike a pose!
Love my panoramic shots!
This pool was cool- or rather warmer because of those dark tiles...
The restaurant at the spa, The Garden, was amazing! We spoiled ourselves with some champagne and good food!
This is my truffle gnocchi. I think I might have finally found a mushroom I like, and of course I shouldn't be surprised- it's one of the most expensive on the planet. Mom raised me well- hahaha! Also, on that note- I may have been born to relax by the pool all day with some champagne ;)
This is M's dish- he got scallops- supposedly very tasty!
Oh yeah- this is the life- anyone want to employ me full time for this?
Letting the mud bake into my skin in the labyrinth meditation garden- erm- I mean meditating
After showering at the spa and changing- Stephanie, M and I headed down to the beach just in time for sunset.
Looks like a beautiful tropical beach- amiright??
Bora Bora beach club...
Oh yeah, but if you look out into the ocean- you see Singapore's main economy! It's the largest port in the world...there are always 100s of boats on the horizon.
After deciding Bora Bora wasn't the place to eat, we took a free tram to Resort Town- that is literally what it is called. It has the Hard Rock hotel, shops, and restaurants. I am somewhat ashamed to admit that we ate at Hard Rock- already missing our American food! I am sure Stephanie does, she is starting her 3rd year living in Singapore!
This was outside the Candylicious store. If you know me, I bought copious amounts of chocolate here. My favorite so far are Snickers pods - that are wafer cups filled with Snickers filling and topped with chocolate. We don't get those in the states. They were made in Australia.
This is the Merlion- Singapore's national mascot- a bit scary all lit up like that. Actually it reminds me of the sphinx in Aladdin- amiwrong??
He changes color...
Well this was a fun packed Sunday, and Monday morning sure came early...back to the grind!
