Running about town

Well a new residence requires a new running route. For the last two years I have run by the canal and the various quays. Now I run to/in a park called Kent Ridge Park. It is incredibly hilly- more hilly than I probably have ever run on a regular basis. I guess this will be good training for the tough mudder I have in July, back in Buffalo. Call me crazy, but I love running outdoors in Singapore. It is ridiculously hot and humid, and I sweat buckets. But, it reminds me of home (GA/FLA), and all the sweat makes me feel as though I accomplished something!

So Kent Ridge Park has mountain bike trails, hiking trails, and an outdoor fitness trail (with pull-up bars etc). It is actually almost a 5k to get to the park and back to Fusionopolis, so I rarely run too far into the park. Also, trying to convince M to join me but with no luck so far :)

 Here are some pictures.

The bottom left is the route details from Map My Run- it's brutal I tell ya- not sure if the pictures of the hills do it justice!

One of the many uphills!

Watch out for falling tree limbs!

Some of the fitness equipment

More fitness equipment and an outdoor elliptical!
