The bustling city of Hong Kong

Singapore is situated in such a great place to travel in Asia. Michael and I decided to spend a weekend in Hong Kong. It is about a four hour flight, so not too bad at all.

We got to Hong Kong late Thursday. M booked the Mini hotel, probably because I drive a mini. And Mini it was! I could touch four walls at the same time, see below for picture evidence.

The other fun thing about hotels overseas, they make the bathrooms see through. Why?? For the love of all things, why?!?!

Please note that the toilet is in a clear box, inches from the top of the bed. Good times.

All things considered, it wasn't too bad of a hotel. It was right around the corner from all the happening things, so that was fun.

The next day, we explored the city and took the tram up to Victoria Peak. On our way, we figured out how to use the trolly, and we came across a lovely girl visiting from central China. We helped her and her friends find the peak. She was really lovely, and spoke English so well. She mentioned that we were the first foreigners she had ever talked to - Amazing! She even took a picture with me (on her camera, I realize now). She told Michael and I we looked so happy together - awwwww. She was full of compliments.

Anyhow, the peak overlooks Hong Kong, and the tram is crazy (this is my best description). The angle of the tram was such that everything outside of it seems to be leaning at a 20-30 degree angle. This is quite the tourist attraction, so it was very crowded. You know that's my favorite thing. You will see the solution to that below.

Not sure this picture does the tram justice, but trust me - it's wild.

 View from tram.

It was a bit smoggy while we visited. Closest is central Hong Kong, this is where we stayed - on Hong Kong Island. Across Victoria bay is mainland Hong Kong.

Look at us in all our happiness :)

The nice Chinese girl was telling us jokes about what they say instead of cheese when taking pictures. How did she know that Americans say cheese? Seems like such a small thing to know about us??

You know I always have to include a panoramic picture.

Okay, so we waited in line, took the hot tram with all the tourists, and took all the pictures, yet we weren't ready to leave the peak yet. So we went to a  restaurant called the Peak Overlook. It was a great oasis away from most of the tourists.

Just a cocktail to cool down. It was quite toasty.

 M enjoyed some oysters....

 The restaurant....

The view on the other side of Victoria Peak and from the restaurant.

The ride back down from the Victoria Peak

The Tram station at the peak

 The tram
Some crazy incline - I tell ya!

More of our Hong Kong adventures to follow, including a crazy night on the town with our local friend, Marco.
