So, after an adventurous day of sight seeing in Hong Kong, we met a friend who works for Hong Kong University for a night on the town. He knew all the cool, hidden places.
Our first stop was Ping Pong, a gin bar that was converted from an old ping pong club. You enter this club through a very unassuming red door, go down a long flight of stairs to a huge well appointed bar.
This is us being fancy, and very bad a selfies...haha!! If you're Facebook friends with me, you've seen this already.
Art and red pants
Gin! Which was served in goblets with one large ice cube.
After having a few drinks here, it was off to Brickhouse, a super trendy Mexican restaurant that you can't just stumble upon. It is down an alley, which without our friend, I would never have dared enter. The food was delicious, the music was great, and the tequila, well it was tequila.
While there, we met a Brit named Carlos, who took us to a dance club, which happened to be by our hotel. Then on our way back to our hotel, we met another Brit, Gar...Carlos snagged us again, and we went to another bar, the Tipping point, where we met a Scot named Angus. All great people, and we had a fantatic time. Unfortunately, I don't have any more pictures from that night, which ended sometime at 5am (yes, we are too old for this). But I have pictures of the "breakfast" we had past noon the next day.
Don't judge, sometimes American's just need greasy pizza.
After napping a little more, we made our way to Victoria Bay to take a Ferry to the mainland of Hong Kong. Again, it was smoggy, but still cool. We took a one hour cruise around the bay. Note, my iPhone camera is now only taking blurry pictures.
Oh yeah, before we got on the cruise, an Asian couple asked to get their picture with us. I think they thought we were celebrities. I'll give you a side-by-side of who I think they thought we were (although I think they were just taking a picture of the white people).
See, they are like our doppelgangers!
So now, pictures from the cruise...
This building was really cool, it displayed all sorts of cool stuff and was constantly changing. Her is an elephant, if you can't see it. We found out the next day that it was a Ritz Carlton.
Well, we are off to the Philippines tonight...will post again soon.
